Product Overview

Replacing the KYR-25CO/X1c is the NEW and IMPROVED KYR-25CO/AG 2019 Portable Air Conditioning Unit Compatible With AMAZON ALEXA and GOOGLE ASSIST!

The KYR range of stand-alone, portable air conditioning units are a great option for a flexible cooling solution. Fitted with easy roll castors this mobile air conditioning system can be conveniently moved from room to room as required, perfect for warm summers at home or hot days in the office.

A ducted exhaust hose is included with the system to vent the hot air to the outside of the building. Our portable air conditioning units benefit from an automatic inbuilt condensate pump, and can condense the water out with the exhaust air, so there is generally no need to empty the water tank (except in extremely humid conditions).

This product is not designed for cooling computer rooms (or similar), and cannot be used 24 hours a day. It is a portable device and is designed for 50% on time and 50% off time per 24 hours. Warranty will be void if the product is misused in the incorrect environment

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which BTU is right for me?

You can use our handy BTU calculator to figure this out—simply input the dimensions of your room and how many occupants or devices will be in there, and we will recommend the right air conditioner for you. If you’re wondering what a BTU is, click here to read more.

Will I need to duct this unit outside?

Yes, portable air conditioners require ducting outside. This is done through a hose, which is typically placed through a window. A window kit is then used to seal and gaps. Often these accessories are included, but always check the product details to see what kind of installation kit is included.

Do portable air conditioners dehumidify as well?

Portable air conditioners naturally remove moisture form the air however some have a special dehumidifying function. This means it can extract the moisture without the cooling function.

Can you use a portable air conditioner all year round?

Portable air conditioners are very versatile. They can be used as dehumidifiers, fans, and some models can even heat your room! Click here to see all units with a heating function.

Can I lengthen the exhaust hose?

All air conditioners come with a flexible hose that can be extended. Extending the hose beyond it’s limits (ie. adding another hose) may compromise the cooling availability of the unit. Please contact us if you need any more details.

Are portable air conditioners energy efficient?

Yes, the models we sell have been chosen for their energy efficiency. For example this Meaco 8000BTU unit will cost around 30.9p per hour, or this Devola 10000BTU will cost you around 33.4p per hour (these prices are based on the April 2024 price cap).

Can I install a portable air conditioner myself?

Yes, portable air conditioners are the only air conditioning systems that require no installation and work straight out of the box. The only requirement is to plug the unit in and vent it outside with a window kit (make sure to check whether this is included with the unit). Other air conditioners such as wall split systems can only be installed by an F-Gas certified engineer.

I’m still not sure this is right for me, can you help?

Buying does take some consideration, so we've put together a full air conditioning buying guide to help you make the right decision! And if you need even more information, check out all our air conditioning articles.
