Product Overview

This model is designed for heavier duty bathroom or utility-room ventilation needs — it uses a 100 mm (4″) duct connection and a centrifugal impeller with forward-curved blades, making it better suited for duct runs with higher resistance than typical axial fans. According to the manufacturer, it delivers up to 98 m³/h free-airflow at standard conditions. The rated power consumption is around 16 W. 

What sets the “IR” variant apart is the built-in PIR (passive infrared motion) sensor, which means the fan can automatically activate when motion is detected in the room, then run on for a preset delay after movement ceases. It also includes an anti-back-draft shutter (to stop external airflow when off) and is designed for wall or flush mounting.

From an installation and performance viewpoint, the noise level is rated at about 36 dB(A) at 3 m in free space. While the standard product page lists the IP rating as IP2X (for this model) so you would need to check suitability for bathroom zone installation or ensure it’s positioned outside zones as required. The 5-year warranty from Blauberg and the German-engineered motor make it a reliable choice where automatic occupancy-controlled extraction is required.
