Product Overview

This model is part of the “Calm” series from Blauberg and is built for larger bathrooms or wet-rooms, with a 150 mm (6″) duct connection and a high airflow specification of up to ~ 318 m³/h (≈ 88 l/s).  It uses a mixed‐flow impeller design that supports longer duct runs and includes an anti-back-draft shutter to prevent unwanted outside airflow when the fan is off.

What sets this “IR” variant apart from standard models is the built-in PIR (motion) sensor which automatically triggers extraction when occupancy or movement is detected. That makes it especially suited for bathrooms, shower rooms or utility spaces where automatic ventilation is beneficial. The model still preserves the quiet-running design: German-engineered motor, anti-vibration mounts, and a low sound level (~33 dB(A) measured in other Calm 150 versions).

From an installation and usage viewpoint, this fan carries an IP45 rating and is approved for mounting in bathroom Zones 1 and 2 when wired correctly — meaning it can be safely placed near showers or baths (subject to local regulations). The chrome finish offers a modern aesthetic and the durable build is backed by a 5-year warranty on the motor. For wiring the PIR version, you’ll typically have live and neutral inputs, plus often a switched live or sensor signal—so professional installation is recommended.
