Product Overview

The Lo-Carbon Centra dMEV is a decentralised mechanical extract ventilation (dMEV) fan designed to run continuously in “wet” rooms like bathrooms, toilets, kitchens or utility spaces. It’s built to meet Building Regulations (Approved Document F) for continuous extract systems (System 3), providing steady airflow while keeping noise and energy use to a minimum.

One of its standout features is the integrated air pressure sensor which automatically calibrates the fan’s trickle flow rate during installation and helps compensate under varying external wind pressures. It offers selectable trickle speeds (around 6 or 9 l/s) and a “boost” mode (~15 l/s) when switched live, making it adaptable to demand while maintaining low consumption during normal operation.

In terms of performance, the unit is ultra-quiet: noise levels are as low as ~10.8 dB(A) in trickle mode, rising to ~25.2 dB(A) in boost mode. It operates on a “Lo-Carbon” motor, which the manufacturer claims can deliver up to 90 % energy savings over standard motors, and comes with a 5-year motor guarantee.
