The MeacoCool MC9000 offers reliable and energy-smart performance for cooling rooms up to 26m², making it a great fit for bedrooms, lounges, and home offices. With a cooling capacity of 9,000 BTU and a strong airflow rate of 325m³/h, it efficiently lowers room temperature while remaining cost-effective — consuming just 1003W and costing around 30.9p per hour to run (based on 27.03p/kWh). Its A energy rating highlights its low energy consumption, delivering powerful performance with less impact on your electricity bill.

Comfortably cool with quieter operation

The MC9000 runs with a minimum noise level of just 53dB, making it quiet enough for use even in bedrooms and workspaces. It includes two fan speeds, an oscillating louvre, and a built-in dehumidifier to help extract excess moisture from the air, which can make a significant difference in humid summer conditions. The dust filter also helps trap airborne particles for improved air quality indoors.

Easy controls and flexible scheduling

With a clear LCD display, remote control, and a 24-hour programmable timer, the MC9000 is designed for ease and convenience. You can pre-set it to cool your space before you arrive home or turn off automatically as you sleep — giving you total control over your indoor climate and energy use. Its wide temperature range from 16°C upwards ensures you can tailor the settings to your comfort level.

Supplied with both window kit types for universal fit

To ensure a better seal and more efficient cooling, the MC9000 includes two different window kits as standard. The standard window kit provides a sturdy, adjustable panel system ideal for vertical sash windows or sliding windows. It helps keep warm air out while the unit operates, maximising cooling efficiency.

The flexible window kit offers a fabric-based solution for less conventional window types — perfect for larger or irregular openings. Easy to install and adjustable in length, it gives you more freedom when positioning the unit. Both window kits are included in the box, so there’s no need for additional purchases or accessories — just set up and go.

Will I need to duct this unit outside?

Yes, portable air conditioners require ducting outside. This is done through a hose, which is typically placed through a window. A window kit is then used to seal and gaps. Often these accessories are included, but always check the product details to see what kind of installation kit is included.

Do portable air conditioners dehumidify as well?

Portable air conditioners naturally remove moisture form the air however some have a special dehumidifying function. This means it can extract the moisture without the cooling function.

Can you use a portable air conditioner all year round?

Portable air conditioners are very versatile. They can be used as dehumidifiers, fans, and some models can even heat your room! Click here to see all units with a heating function.

Can I lengthen the exhaust hose?

All air conditioners come with a flexible hose that can be extended. Extending the hose beyond it’s limits (ie. adding another hose) may compromise the cooling availability of the unit. Please contact us if you need any more details.

Are portable air conditioners energy efficient?

Yes, the models we sell have been chosen for their energy efficiency. For example this Meaco 8000BTU unit will cost around 30.9p per hour, or this Devola 10000BTU will cost you around 33.4p per hour (these prices are based on the April 2024 price cap).

Can I install a portable air conditioner myself?

Yes, portable air conditioners are the only air conditioning systems that require no installation and work straight out of the box. The only requirement is to plug the unit in and vent it outside with a window kit (make sure to check whether this is included with the unit). Other air conditioners such as wall split systems can only be installed by an F-Gas certified engineer.
