The CALMBLACK125IR belongs to the sleek “Calm” range by Blauberg and is designed for larger bathrooms, utility rooms or wet zones where stronger airflow is required. With its 125 mm (5″) duct connection, this unit achieves an extraction rate of approximately 187 m³/h (52 l/s). Its mixed-flow impeller and anti-vibration German-engineered motor ensure a high-performance yet quiet operation, making it ideal for heavy duty ventilation while maintaining discreet background noise.

What really sets this model apart is the built-in PIR (passive infrared) motion detector. The fan can automatically switch on when movement is detected in the room—so you don’t have to remember to turn it on—and then run for a preset period to clear lingering moisture or odours after you leave. According to the product listing, this version is finished in a stylish black housing (“BLACK”).

Installation-wise, the CALMBLACK125IR is rated IP45, making it safe for installation in bathroom Zones 1 and 2 (when wired via an RCD) and compliant with the UK’s Building Regulation Parts F & L for ventilation.
