Whether you're heading upstairs for the night or arriving home after a long day, you can activate the unit remotely and enjoy a perfectly cooled or heated space on demand. With an A-rated energy efficiency and a low running cost of just 27p per hour in cooling mode (based on 27.03p/kWh), this is smart comfort made simple.
Cooling and heating for year-round use
With both 8000 BTU cooling and 8100 BTU heating capacity, this model offers powerful performance all year round. It’s ideal for rooms between 16–26 m², making it perfect for bedrooms, living rooms or home offices. The unit features five operating modes—Cool, Heat, Fan, Dry and Sleep—allowing it to adapt to changing seasons and personal preferences. At just 52 dB on low fan speed, it runs quietly in the background while maintaining optimum comfort. The Sleep Mode further reduces noise and dims the lights on the display to help you drift off undisturbed.
Programmable comfort and efficient dehumidification
For the best experience, we recommend pre-cooling or pre-heating your room using the 1–24 hour timer, so it's at the perfect temperature when you need it. You can set this manually or through the Meaco App. With the ability to remove up to 1.2 litres of moisture per hour, this unit also helps to reduce humidity, keeping the air feeling fresh and dry—especially useful on sticky summer nights.
Compact, mobile and built to last
The compact MC8000CHRPRO is easy to move between rooms thanks to its built-in castors, and it comes with a simple remote control for effortless operation. Additional features such as the child lock and Meaco App compatibility make it ideal for family homes. With robust construction and a three-year warranty, this is a dependable solution for climate control throughout the year.
Window kit options for any home
The MeacoCool comes with two types of window kits: a standard window kit for sash and sliding windows, and a flexible window kit suitable for a wide range of window styles. The standard kit includes three panels (65 cm, 65 cm, and 51 cm) totalling 170 cm in length—ideal for most sash windows, although you may notice a small gap when used on taller sliding doors (this won’t significantly impact performance). The flexible kit stretches up to 4 metres in length and fits window widths of up to 39 cm, helping to ensure a tight seal that keeps cool or warm air in, and unwanted heat out.

Will I need to duct this unit outside?
Yes, portable air conditioners require ducting outside. This is done through a hose, which is typically placed through a window. A window kit is then used to seal and gaps. Often these accessories are included, but always check the product details to see what kind of installation kit is included.
Do portable air conditioners dehumidify as well?
Portable air conditioners naturally remove moisture form the air however some have a special dehumidifying function. This means it can extract the moisture without the cooling function.
Can you use a portable air conditioner all year round?

Can I lengthen the exhaust hose?
All air conditioners come with a flexible hose that can be extended. Extending the hose beyond it’s limits (ie. adding another hose) may compromise the cooling availability of the unit. Please contact us if you need any more details.
Are portable air conditioners energy efficient?
Yes, the models we sell have been chosen for their energy efficiency. For example this Meaco 8000BTU unit will cost around 30.9p per hour, or this Devola 10000BTU will cost you around 33.4p per hour (these prices are based on the April 2024 price cap).
Can I install a portable air conditioner myself?
Yes, portable air conditioners are the only air conditioning systems that require no installation and work straight out of the box. The only requirement is to plug the unit in and vent it outside with a window kit (make sure to check whether this is included with the unit). Other air conditioners such as wall split systems can only be installed by an F-Gas certified engineer.
